Have you ever wondered what was at the end of Castle Island Road, now is the time to find out.
Are you looking for a fun activity that you can pursue alone, or with family and friends, then sailing and paddle sports are definitely for you! Whether you are 8 or 88, our taster sessions are a great opportunity for you and your family to get out on the water and explore all the activities we have to offer, or just come and have a look see, and a chat.
Activities will be held between 11:00 and 16:30
- 1100 – 1230
- 1230 – 1400
- 1400 – 1630
To book your session email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with your name, phone number and someone will ring you to discuss the options, and book you in.
Minimum age 8 years old. Under 16s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
How to get here
The club is located at the end of Castle Island Road, take the Strangford Road from the
Downpatrick roundabout, drive 3.5 miles and on the left hand side you will see a sign for Castle Island Road and Quoile Yacht Club, drive to the end of the road.
When you get here
The gates of the club will be open. Please park carefully, keeping a sharp eye out for
pedestrians, especially children.
Make your way to the front of the clubhouse.
The Club will be offering sessions on Strangford Lough in various craft: dinghies, day boats,
large cruiser, motorboat, paddle boards and canoes. Depending on the conditions you may get a little wet, most likely your feet!
Buoyancy aids will be provided to all those who are going afloat.
What to bring
- Wet weather jacket and a towel.
- A wetsuit if you own one.
- Suitable footwear – trainers, wet boots or similar…. remember they will get wet!!
- Whatever the weather, it is advisable to bring sun screen, a hat and sunglasses. We are hoping for a lovely sunny day.
We will be serving complimentary refreshments and hotdogs at the front of the clubhouse.
Before you leave (membership)
Having enjoyed an inspiring day with us, if you are interested in joining the club there will be members at the clubhouse to answer any questions you may have.
We are COVID compliant
In line with Government guidance we are unable to offer changing or showering facilities at the moment.
On the day, if you feel unwell, have any symptoms or have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for covid, please do not attend.
Remember social distancing. Remember hand hygiene and keep safe at Quoile Yacht Club.
